Construction on Cormorant House is now well underway with the core walls to the staircases completed in February and beginning to fit the handrails and string skirting. The internal partitioning and plasterwork is also near completion alongside the second fix of the mechanical and electrical work.
97% of the doors and frames have been fitted to the studio apartments and 75% of the corridor doors and frames are fitted, with work continuing to progress on the skirting and architraves. Likewise, 85% of all kitchens are fitted alongside vinyl flooring in the kitchen and carpeting continuing throughout the building.
Work on the lower floors is nearly completed, meaning the shift of focus will mover to the upper floors. The contractor is now starting to work their way down the building to finish all units to the level of those already completed on the lower floors; in order to facilitate the fitting of beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs etc. which is set to commence shortly.
