Construction on Colonial Chambers in Q1 2018 has seen final installations throughout floors one to five and the start of the stripping of the roof.
The stripping of excess material on the roof is now underway in preparation for re-covering, with the appointed roofer in place. Over the next two weeks the strip out is expected to be completed with the appointed roofer starting the re-cover.
Scottish Power Electrical Upgrade and the booster tank and pump installation have also been instructed. The booster tank and pump are currently awaiting M&E comments however, once this has been confirmed work will then commence.
Tile and grid ceiling installation has also started this quarter, along with the mastic sealings on the fifth, fourth and second floors and the communal floor coverings on the second and first floors. Work has also started in energising communal areas on the third, second and first floors, and the larger phase of drainage runs and domestic hot water heaters. Construction on the dry riser has completed, allowing the installation of the dry riser to commence.
Over the next few weeks, a full strip out and construction is expected to start on the ground floor, along with bathroom mirrors fitted to all completed floors. Completion of the external shaft duct and smoke shaft duct and wiring design are also set to be in place.
